Derrick carter & dayhota: this was a semester long bidding game and it went over 3g's all together. bottom line, no one at orchid will profit or enjoy themselves with a $10 cover to try and break even. i hope you all understand. when he was at 1.5g's it would have been possible like paul johnson, but it just didn't work out.

-Jes One - rockford, il - groove shop records - raverworld.com - this thursday upstairs.
Jes One is a rave DJ from rockford that is fun as hell to listen and dance to. he plays progressive edged house and techno music with a mix of some great hip hop records, enough just to get your head bobbin in the middle of his set, before going back. he plays partys all around the midwest and is part of deception krew. It is his first time appearance out here, and your in for a treat.

downstairs...hopefully China Wite...he is a great aggressive techno and trance DJ that has a good rep in the Midwest and plays a lot of partys in the area.

...finally, last liquid thursday of the spring semester. i want to see everybody out. this year has had it's ups and downs and there will always be room for improvement, just remember that there is no other place in this town and 100 mile radius like Orchid. Enjoy it goddamit.

-Dayhota next week, Curt the week after, Studio 54 Party coming up, Markski on May 3, and Derrick Carter and Dayhota has been moved to May 10 for Orchid's grand finale to the semester. Sorry about the inconvenience.
-As for Christopher Lawrence, there was nothing we could do, this is the first time that a DJ has not shown up at Orchid ever. Everything was smooth until 9pm when we found out all flights were cancelled out of Chicago due to lightning. I thought we had a ride but he couldn't drive all the way to Champaign. Myself along with all of Orchid's staff are really upset that things turned out the way they did. We are really trying to book another date this semester, but it looks like there can't be make-up date until next semester. Christopher is having surgery right now and is taking some time off, and he's pretty booked until late May early June, and well it just wouldn't be right if we brought him in the summer during Early session, there is hardly anybody here. The Rainchecks will still be valid, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, however we still had to pay Christopher the full amount despite the flight cancellation. Furthermore, this will allow us to bring him out for a very minimal fee which will in turn reflect back to all of you who are dying to see him play as much me. Thank you all for being understanding about this.

-We are currently selling shamrocks on the first floor for St. Patricks Day. The green shamrocks cost $1 and the gold shamrocks cost $5, you get your name on them and they go up on the lighted wall behind the first floor bar. All the money goes for Muscular Dystrophy.

-This is the weekend that starts everything off, now that most people are back.
-Tonight should be a kick ass night, we have Sik Prik upstairs banging out some hard progressive house, while DJ Web is downstairs groovin it out. Champaign and Bloomington will rocking it out.
-This Friday Mixin' Marc from Chicago will be in the house, with Lyle spinning some hip hop and old skool downstairs.
-Saturday, Sayon will be banging out some trance and progressive house, with Marko downstairs doing Whiteboyz thing.
-This semester is gonna fucking rock, especially after last Thursday.

-We will be open on Sunday January 14, 2001 with DJ Adam Pichon and DJ Who? spinning House and Club music. $2 Cover, No cover until 10PM.

-New Years Eve was so much fun, thanks to everybody that celebrated with us. We have been working on next semester so that it can compare with the energy of new years.
-Downstairs on thursdays we are going to be bringing in guest djs from the area... DJ Zeek from Bloomington and C.I.A. will be starting this off at 10pm on the eleventh spinning Uptempo House.
-Downstairs at 9pm I will also be playing recorded live dj sets from people like Erik Morillo, Judge Jules, Paul Oakenfold, and many more... This upcoming thursday I'll be playing Anne Savage and Lisa Lashes @ Sweet Get's Wicked, London, UK.
